\"6W5A6064\"Yesterday, 16 September 2014, ADHOC and Oxfam opened the photo-exhibition \u201cAccess to Justice\u201d at the Meta-House, Phnom Penh. The opening was attended by over a hundred participants, including distinguished guests representing ADHOC\u2019s key supporters and development partners as well as Cambodian students and journalists.<\/p>\n

Access to justice is limited in Cambodia. High legal costs and the absence of an effective national legal aid system keep poor litigants out of court. Moreover, corruption and impunity are widespread. Judges are of\u00adten far from impartial with court decisions often biased towards the interests of the wealthy and powerful.<\/p>\n

In response to this, ADHOC set up its innova\u00adtive Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program, with the aim to provide access to justice to Cambodia\u2019s most vulnerable through out-of-court dispute settlement mechanisms.<\/p>\n

The exhibition of photographs by Cambodian photographer KimlongMeng, tells the stories of 12 people able to settle small scale conflicts through ADHOC\u2019s ADR Program. The exhibition will be on display at the Meta-House (Street 264, #6, SangkatChaktomuk Khan Daun Penh)until Monday the 29th<\/sup> of September.<\/p>\n
