Subject:<\/strong> Request for intervention with Rattanakiry provincial authority to open a cooperation of work within province\u00a0between ADHOC and provincial authority in order to resolve the dispute and improve respect of people\u2019s basic rights in province.<\/span><\/div>\n

Motive: <\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
Recently, August 19-20, 2008 H.E Muong Poy, the provincial governor said publicly on RFA, Cambodge Soir, and Phnom Penh Post, that he stops receiving the complaint filed by people through ADHOC,that is an alleged incitement.<\/span><\/div>\n
According to the above allegation, ADHOC is honored to inform H.E Deputy-Prime Minister, Minister of<\/span><\/div>\n
the Interior that ADHOC is legitimately registered with the Ministry of the Interior and has the activities overall 24 provinces\/cities for over 15 years to promote and protect human rights and democracy in Cambodia.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Meanwhile, ADHOC is pleased to inform H.E that all complainants who submitted dossiers to ADHOC, already done so to the involved state institutions, but they did not receive any resolution even if they are waiting for long time procedure. On the other hand, all activities implemented by ADHOC have been always supported by the provincial and municipal authorities. Especially, ADHOC tried to prevent people dissatisfied with resolution from resorting to the violence for resolution of their disputes, and also advised them to refer to the legal action for resolution of their disputes.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Therefore, the allegation made recently by H.E Muong Poy against ADHOC is a threat on ADHOC\u2019s activity to promote and ensure respect of human rights in compliance with the Constitution. In the same ime, the allegation of ADHOC as an instigator is a violation of the Criminal Code provided in Article 59, 60, and 61\u00a0as the law stated that the provision of legal advice to people is not a criminality. <\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
As mentioned above, ADHOC would like to request H.E Deputy-Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior would provide an intervention of good office between H.E Muong Poy, provincial governor and ADHOC aiming to ensure improved respect of human rights and democracy within province.<\/span><\/div>\n
